It’s not your fault (why dieting hasn’t worked).

Have you found yourself utterly exhausted by years of diet after diet that ultimately never last? Are you constantly searching for the next diet, superfood, or supplement that’s finally going to be the answer to better health? Have you thought to yourself “This time is it…this one’s gonna stick”, only to be blaming yourself two months later for failing your diet because you “have no willpower”?

If that’s you, I’m sorry. I’ve been there. And it stinks. The world of dieting is alluring. Looking at all those before/after pictures, maybe even taking a “before” picture, promising yourself an amazing “after” picture 3 months from now. We start the diet, full of gusto and hope. But, inevitably, the diet fails us.

Here’s what diets miss: you. You are a whole person. You have likes and dislikes, real emotions, unique past experiences and future aspirations, a unique living (and therefore also food) environment, and probably a busy schedule! You’re not a mindless robot who can happily exist on grilled chicken and steamed broccoli (and is that really all we want to eat anyway?!).

Here’s what I know to be true: real people need real nutrition plans. Plans that are organically produced through discussions about the ins/outs of your personhood and life, that account for your favorite foods, for the fact that you don’t like cooking (or the fact that you love it!), for the fact that Monday night soccer practice interferes with dinnertime, or that everyone in your house seems to have opposing food preferences…

My favorite part about my job is getting to know my clients and combining my nutrition knowledge together with my knowledge about you and your life in order to make a plan that you can see yourself enjoying (and feeling great on) for the rest of your life!
